About
Welcome to Cicchetti by San Carlo, a delightful gem nestled in the vibrant heart of London's Covent Garden. Located at 30 Wellington St, this charming restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere that is perfect for enjoying authentic Italian cuisine. The ease of reaching the restaurant, coupled with the nearby allure of the West End, makes it an ideal stop before or after a theatre performance.
Customer reviews resonate with a common theme: the incredible food and outstanding service. One guest, Ileana, describes her experience as "a taste of Italy in each bite," praising not only the exquisite flavors but also the warmth of the staff, noting how they truly made her feel like family. It's this kind of heartfelt service that sets Cicchetti apart from the rest. From the moment you enter, you're greeted with genuine smiles and an eagerness to elevate your dining experience.
As a tapas-style restaurant, Cicchetti encourages sharing and savoring a variety of dishes. Lauren Conner's experience highlights their spectacular carbonara and decadent tiramisu—both dishes that have left diners in bliss. The atmosphere is a blend of upscale dining and comfortable intimacy, making it accessible yet special. While some patrons initially mentioned surprises with chargeable items like water, they quickly recognized Cicchetti's commitment to quality, underscoring that an elevated dining experience can still be reasonably priced.
In-review, Mark Dighton shares how his party loved their dinner so much that they returned just for drinks and dessert. This recurring patronage speaks volumes about the meringue dessert—revered as "imported directly from heaven." It’s not just about food here; it's about creating memorable moments that encourage guests to return. Plus, as Julie Searle noted, stumbling upon this restaurant after a play became a serendipitous delight, thanks to the friendly staff and truly delicious food.
If you find yourself at Covent Garden, Cicchetti by San Carlo is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Italian culinary traditions that you won’t want to miss. With an array of delightful dishes and a dedication to impeccable service, every visit promises to be a memorable culinary adventure.
“ I visited the restaurant a couple of days ago in our visit to London. My Uber driver recommended it to us and we decided to give it a try after going to the Mamma Mia show. It was the best decision. Food was excellent, a taste of Italy in each bite. Their service is OUTSTANDING! Stefan and Noemi made us feel at home and as part of their family. All of them at Cicchetti was part of this memorable experience, but the best news is that they are coming to Miami and we can’t wait to visit them here. If you go to Covent Garden, London go for it! ”
“ This is such a lovely little place. It was our first time here, so we didn't know it was a tapas style restaurant. However, we made it work for us, and it was amazing. The food was spectacular. My sisters carbonara was a big hit with us, as well as the tiramisu - it was just so light and creamy, it was heaven on a plate! Service was amazing as well. It is definitely a bit more upmarket to what we are used to, but it's still reasonably priced considering it's in the West End. My only complaint is when they offered us water, we didn't know it was chargeable, but as I said it was more upmarket than where we normally eat, so maybe this is a normal thing in those types of places? I would come back here, though, now that I know what to expect, I can budget a bit higher to experience more of the menu. ”
“ We loved our dinner and the staff here SO much that we went back two nights later for just drinks and dessert, and were not disappointed. The meringue dessert is imported directly from heaven. And the drinks are almost that good. ”
“ We arrived unannounced for a birthday celebration. We were warmly greeted and a table made available, we did have a time restriction of 1.5 hours but only because they fitted us in. Jayne was our waitress. Top marks for banter, chit chat and realism. ”
“ We randomly found this fabulous restaurant after attending a theatre performance, and we're lucky enough to get two seats at the bar, which you can eat at. The staff are wonderfully friendly and the food is authentically Italian and so delicious. I would highly recommend a visit ”
“ Made me feel so special on my 50th Birthday! From finding a table when technically there were no tables for couples left, to the service throughout our meal, and the gorgeous dessert plate that was accompanied by the Host and Noemi (our very lovely Waitress) singing Happy Birthday to me, not to mention the most delicious food, that was beautifully presented. This was one of the best meals I have ever had. Thank you! ”
“ The thing I love about Cicchetti is, it’s just so damn beautiful. And the food is good and they have a great selection of wine. The team are friendly and accommodating. What’s not to like? ”
“ Everything was perfect. Italian small plates are a great idea!!! Garlic bread, ceasar salad, pollo milanese, risotto, and fried zucchini. So good. Our selected wine was just ok (pinot grigio). The service was great. Food started slow and came out fast at the end. Excellent!! ”
